We are proud to report that in the fourth quarter of 2021, we set free 44 families (214 people). In the same quarter last year, we redeemed 34 families so it is a huge encouragement to us that in spite of global challenges, the bonded-labour slaves of Pakistan have not been forgotten!

We are proud to report that in the third quarter of 2021, we have set free 46 families (220 people). That brings the total number of families that have been set free to date to over 500! How amazing is the collective power of generosity to bring about positive change in the world?! Thank you so much for the part you have played to make it all happen!

We celebrate with each one of these redeemed families as they experience the inward and outward transformation that comes with the gift of freedom.

We are proud to report that in the second quarter of 2021, we have set free 41 families (187 people). Each of these redeemed families have their own special story about how they ended up in bonded-labour slavery and what their plans are for the future but one thing they all share is a deep gratitude towards those who gave them this gift of freedom.

Put yourself in their shoes for a moment… can you imagine being told that people you’ve never met, from a country you’ve never heard of, who don’t even speak your language, love you enough to want to pay your debt in full? It’s hard to imagine what they must be feeling!

We are proud to report that in the first quarter of 2021, we have set free 36 families (185 people). These families are all settling into new jobs and new communities. Many have been able to send their children to school for the first time!

Our team in Pakistan have also been busy following-up on families to check their wellbeing. We recognise that leaving the brick kilns is only the first step on their journey into freedom. Enjoy the follow-up stories below from some of our redeemed families as they reflect on their journey so far.

We are proud to report that in the fourth quarter of 2020, we set free 34 families (159 people). These families have all been transitioned into new jobs and new communities. For our team in Pakistan, there is no greater joy than sharing with a family that their debt is being paid in full! The emotional response from families is so varied – some laugh, some cry, some are beyond excited, some are so weak with exhaustion that they can hardly speak. But without exception, they are all overcome with gratitude!

We are proud to report that in the 3rd quarter of 2020, we set free 30 families (150 people). These families have all been transitioned into new jobs and new communities. Words cannot describe the overwhelming joy and relief these families experienced when they learned that their debt has been paid in full and they are free to leave the brick kiln. And you made it happen!

In spite of travel restrictions and periodic lockdowns, we are proud to report that in the 2nd quarter of 2020, we set free 34 families (173 people). These families have all been transitioned into new communities and are being supported through the current crisis. As schools and businesses slowly begin to reopen in Pakistan we are assisting these families to get established in work and education.

Prior to the current situation unfolding, this year got off to a smooth and steady start. We are proud to report that in the 1st quarter of 2020, we set free 28 families (113 people). These families have all been transitioned into new jobs and communities and are thrilled to be free from the bondage of life-long debt.

As the New Year dawned, we certainly did not anticipate the global impact that Covid-19 would have on our lives, our communities and our countries. Pakistan remains in lockdown at this time so our present focus is on supporting our team there and helping with emergency aid for families who are in need of basic supplies. We are very thankful for donations we have received to enable this.

We are proud to report that in the 4th quarter of 2019, we set free 40 familes (185 people). Each one of these lives has been completely transformed. Many have experienced hope for the first time ever!
