Turning dreams into reality - the smiles say it all!
On the first day of Spring, the season of new life, Freeslaves was able to set eight families free from bonded labour slavery in the brick kilns of Pakistan. Thanks to our US and NZ donors, that's a total of 37 people who are now able to begin a new life of hope and freedom.

Outram students lead the way to freedom!
A few weeks ago, we posted about two Outram school students who sold baking and slime to raise $150 towards setting a family free. In true Kiwi style, other donors got in behind and by the end of the weekend, we had enough money to free the Allah Wasaya family! They had been in bonded labour slavery for the past two years but are now able to begin a new life and dream of a new future.
Thanks girls for leading the way and changing the world! ... See MoreSee Less

A FAMILY NOT ONLY FREE BUT REUNITED!
The Bashart Masih family has been in bonded-labor slavery for 25 years. More recently, the wife died during child birth, leaving the father to raise the children and work in the kilns alone. To ease the burden, the father sent the two older children to live with relatives. We mentioned this family in a recent freeslaves email update and within 24 hours, we had the full amount to set them free. The older children have been reunited with their father and they are now all able to begin a new life together. Thank you to everyone who contributed and especially to the East Taieri youth group who fundraised $200 towards this family's freedom. ... See MoreSee Less
HOPE BECOMES REALITY FOR THIS YOUNG FAMILY
After two long years in slavery, the Iftahar family are free! Like so many desperate families, they took a loan from the brick kiln for medical treatment and in trying to save a life, they were forced to sell a life. But thanks to the amazing support of Calvary VBS Kids, this family's nightmare is over and they can begin a new life with their young children in freedom! Mr Iftahar has a new job as a van driver for a local transportation company.
